About Imperium Dei

We are a legal consulting firm based in Guayaquil that handles legal matters in Ecuador and assists clients who are living abroad.

Who we are

A legal consulting firm in Guayaquil, working within and beyond Ecuador

Imperium Dei is a legal consulting firm dedicated to technical defence and legal advice for individuals, families, businesses and organizations. We work from Guayaquil, in Urdesa, Av. Otto Arosemena, and handle matters across a range of areas of Ecuadorian law.

Our work covers both judicial and extrajudicial representation and the handling of procedures, administrative processes and filings that require documentary order and constant follow-up. A significant part of the matters we take on belong to people who are not physically in Ecuador and who need someone they trust to manage their affairs in the country.

The legal direction of the firm is in the hands of Génesis Dayanna Espinoza Bustamante, Attorney at Law, President and Legal Director, who defines the strategy for each case and remains in direct contact with the client as the matter develops.

Our philosophy

Every matter calls for its own legal strategy

We do not believe in standardized solutions. Two cases that appear identical rarely are: the facts differ, as do the available evidence, the deadlines and the people involved.

For that reason, before proposing a course of action we study the case file, identify the applicable rules and weigh the real alternatives that exist according to the facts and the evidence available. The strategy is built for the specific case and is adjusted as the proceeding advances.

We also understand that in legal matters timing is decisive. Acting in good time can prevent more serious consequences and widen the alternatives available; postponing a decision usually narrows them. When a matter requires immediate attention, we say so plainly from the first contact.

Finally, we aim for each person to understand their own situation. We explain the real state of the matter, the possible options and their risks in plain language, without offering assured outcomes, so that you can decide with sufficient information and count on responsible representation at every stage.

Underlying all of this is the combination we hold ourselves to: legal rigour, professional ethics, confidentiality and a human approach to the person behind the file.

Working principles

Legal rigour, ethics and a human approach

Technical rigour

Every filing, hearing and step is prepared with legal grounding and analysis of the case file. Preparation is the basis of a serious defence.

Professional ethics

We take on only those matters we can handle responsibly, and we explain the difficulties of a case frankly when they exist.

Confidentiality

Each client’s information and documentation is handled with professional discretion at every stage of the work.

Personalized strategy

We analyse the facts, the evidence and the applicable rules before defining the course of action that suits each matter.

Timely action

We treat deadlines as an essential part of the case and give notice when a step cannot be delayed.

Human approach

Behind every file there is a person and a family. We listen before giving an opinion, and we accompany the client throughout the process, not only at the outset.

Who we serve

Three different situations, one standard of attention

How we work

The work begins with a first contact in which you describe the matter in general terms, without sending confidential documentation. From that description we carry out a preliminary review to determine the subject matter, the urgency involved and whether the case falls within our areas of work.

Where appropriate, we arrange a consultation, in person or remotely, to examine the matter in greater detail and explain the alternatives available. When a case is accepted, the scope of the work, the conditions and the instructions for submitting documentation are set out in writing.

As the matter develops we keep the client informed of the steps taken and those still ahead, and we indicate in advance what will be required from their side.

Speak with our firm about your case

Tell us in general terms what you need. We will let you know whether the matter falls within our areas of work and what the next steps would be.

Submitting this form or contacting the firm does not automatically create an attorney-client relationship. Do not send confidential, privileged, sensitive, or original documents until the firm has confirmed representation and provided instructions.
